CROSSRHYTHMS REVIEW of Songs
for Abi
After the CD was manufactured
I sent a number of copies overseas
I had not asked for or expected reviews to be provided
however one year after sending a CD to CrossRhythms
a Christian internet radio station based in the UK
Songs for Abi was reviewed by Theo Bowyer
it was published on November 22, 2011
Theo plays in a UK Christian band he is also a piano teacher
and a studio musician available to play on recordings
as a pianist, vocalist, bass, rhythm or lead guitarist
While his reference to meeting in a bar is
not correct
his review sees past
how nervous the singer was and the lack of practice together
and looks at the relationship between the words and music
and more importantly
he sees and feels the message in the words
These recordings you hear are only a beginning
the atmospheric pads and backing vocals will be added
somewhere out there is the singer who will do this
as yet I don't know who she is
but when the time is right I will know
and we will record
During 2012
I plan to rewrite and simplify the piano backing to the songs
before I record them again
