Verse 1
I trust you Lord with all my heart and to serve you I desire
And I know that when I’m close to you the spirit burns like fire

If we have a desire to serve the Lord and do all that we can to obey His commandments He will guide us day by day. But as we cannot actually see Him (Enos 1: 6-8) we have to depend on the Spirit to help us. (Hebrews 1: 1-40) An easy guide is to say what would Jesus do in this situation and if it is something good and positive and uplifting chances are the Lord approves however if it is negative, degrading, worldy and you feel doubts of any kind chances are you are being tempted or deceived by Satan to do something wrong.

Walking by faith is not easy, even after Jesus was crucified and had risen from the dead and then appeared to the apostles Thomas would not believe that they had seen Him until he actually saw Him himself. (John 20: 24-29)

Satan will do all that he can to undermine our faith, most often by having us feel like doing nothing and then to encourage us to be comfortable to go with the flow and fit in with the world around us, James 2: 14-16 so getting stuck in the rut, or at home in our comfort zone is not good for us. (Romans 10: 14-17)

This life is our one and only opportunity to prepare to live with God and Satan will do everything he can to keep us from reaching that goal. We need to be doing all we can each day to obey the commandments and live a Christ like life. (1 Peter 1: 8-9)

Each day we are exposed to a wide variety of influences such as peer pressure, the media, entertainment and music, some are good and some are bad. We should try to focus on those things that are good and uplifting. However we need to be aware that Satan will sometimes present us with something that appears to be good and positive but when we look closely we find that there is in fact a hidden negative which undermines all the good that may come from it.

Often the lead-in is a peer group thing such as you need to try it just once so you can know for yourself or one time won't hurt, but don't be tricked by this, as one thing leads to another, so don't give in. If however you do the wrong thing don't give up on yourself by feeling all is lost. You should remember that the fact you recognise you have done the wrong thing shows that the spirit is still with you and also remember that Jesus has died for you and that all your sins can be forgiven you.

Satan is very subtle in the way he works and will say to you in your mind. You have done it once, doing it a few more times won't matter, who will know and who will it hurt to do it again but, don't be fooled by this.
